Welcome to Dura Beds, one of the UK’s largest and most dynamic independent bed and mattress manufacturers. Our story is one of rapid growth, deep-rooted commitment, and uncompromising quality, all forged in the heart of the bed-making industry in West Yorkshire.
Since our inception, we have quickly grown to become the second-largest independent manufacturer of beds and mattresses in the UK. This success is built on a simple philosophy: combining the best of British technology with traditional craftsmanship to deliver the perfect night’s sleep.
Scale and Precision
Our operations are defined by impressive scale and meticulous precision. We are a major employer in the region, with a dedicated team of over 165 people. Our manufacturing process is remarkably efficient, producing:
Over 4,500 mattresses per week.
Over 2,500 divan beds per week.
We operate on a “just-in-time” manufacturing model, ensuring every mattress, divan base, ottoman, and headboard is crafted to order. This bespoke process, paired with our own fleet of delivery vehicles, guarantees reliable, weekly service to customers across the entire UK and Ireland.

We proudly flaunt 100% in-house production, giving us complete control over every stage of manufacturing. We utilize advanced, specialized machinery sourced from top European nations to ensure precision, while our artisans focus on the finishing touches that make a Dura Bed unique.
British Technology & Innovation:
We are pioneers in sleep technology. Our team has rigorously tested over 100 different material combinations to invent new, innovative fillings that define our mattresses and provide superior comfort and support.
Our Products and Reach
We cater to the mid-range sector of the market, offering a comprehensive product line that spans from value-driven comfort to premium luxury. Our diverse collections, including Orthopedic Back care, Pocket Spring Deluxe, and Cloud Lite®, ensure we have a sleep solution for every preference and need.
While our foundation is firmly in Batley, West Yorkshire (currently operating out of a 190,000 sq. ft. facility), our reach is global. We are proud to export British-made quality to international markets, including Spain, Portugal, and Denmark.
Our future is focused on growth; we plan to consolidate our operations by moving into a new, state-of-the-art 220,000 sq. ft. premises in the coming years, which will also allow our sister companies, Spring Craft and Kayflex, to operate closer to us.
